Vixify vs Hookdeck vs Svix
An honest comparison, not a marketing one -- every number below is quoted from Hookdeck's and Svix's own public pricing/docs pages, checked on 2026-09-21. Both change their pricing over time, so verify against their current pages before deciding. Sources are linked at the bottom.
An important asterisk on Svix
Svix's main product is the reverse of what Vixify does: it helps your company send your own outbound webhooks reliably to your customers. Their directly comparable product to Vixify/Hookdeck (receiving and relaying third-party webhooks, like Stripe's or GitHub's) is a separate, newer offering called Svix Ingest, priced on the same plans shown below. Keep that in mind -- this is a less apples-to-apples comparison than the one against Hookdeck.
Free tier
| Vixify | Hookdeck | Svix (Ingest) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $0 | $0 |
| Webhooks/events included | No cap enforced | 10,000/mo | 50,000 messages/mo, 200/sec |
| Sustained throughput | 150 req/s tested live (99.98% success) -- no enforced cap | 5 events/sec default, more requires a paid throughput upgrade† | 200/sec (same as the row above) |
| Inbound payload size | 10 MiB | 10 MiB | Not stated on their pricing/docs pages we checked |
| Active retry window | 48 hours / 50 attempts | Up to 7 days / 50 attempts* | ~1 day (fixed 8-step schedule)* |
| Payload/event retention | Deleted only if never delivered; kept forever once delivered | 3 days | 30 days |
| Users per account | 1 (no team accounts yet) | 1 | Unlimited (per their pricing page) |
† Per Hookdeck's own docs/quotas page: 5 events/sec is their stated default throughput on the Developer (free) plan, raised only via a separate paid throughput change -- this isn't the same number as the 10,000/mo events quota above it, and one of the more surprising limits we found while researching this page.
* Hookdeck's and Svix's docs don't state these retry limits are different on paid plans. On Free, Hookdeck's documented ceiling (7 days) is still longer than Vixify's -- said plainly, since the point of this page is real numbers, not a story that favors us.
Cheapest paid tier
| Vixify Pro | Hookdeck Team | Svix Professional | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $5/mo flat | $39/mo + usage beyond 10k events | $490/mo |
| Webhooks/events included | No cap enforced | 10,000/mo, then pay-as-you-go | 50,000 messages/mo, 800/sec |
| Sustained throughput | 150 req/s tested live (99.98% success) -- no enforced cap | Not stated for Team specifically -- throughput is billed as its own separate upgrade, independent of the Team/Growth tiers | 800/sec (same as the row above) |
| Inbound payload size | 10 MiB | 10 MiB | Not stated on their pricing/docs pages we checked |
| Active retry window | 7 days / 50 attempts | Up to 7 days / 50 attempts* | ~1 day (fixed 8-step schedule)* |
| Payload/event retention | Kept regardless of outcome | 7 days | 90 days |
| Uptime SLA | None published | Growth plan only ($499/mo): 99.999% | 99.99% |
| SOC 2 / SSO / audit logs | No | Growth/Enterprise only | SOC 2 Type II report included; SSO/audit logs are Enterprise-only |
Feature-by-feature
- Signature verification: Vixify checks one generic HMAC-SHA256 scheme (you configure the header name and an optional prefix) -- it works with anything you control the signing convention for, but doesn't natively speak Stripe's, GitHub's, or Shopify's specific signature formats the way Svix Ingest's built-in per-provider verification does.
- Rate limiting: Vixify has both -- a cap on webhooks accepted per minute, and a separate cap on deliveries sent to your target per minute, both optional and configurable per project. Hookdeck's public docs describe destination-side retry behavior but not a customer-configurable incoming-request cap; Svix Ingest is marketed as protecting against traffic spikes but doesn't publish exact throttling numbers.
- Fan-out (multiple destinations per source): Vixify supports up to 5 target URLs per project, each retried completely independently, with a basic per-target filter (one JSON field must equal a value) and payload transform (keep only specific fields, reshaped) -- both plain dot-paths, no regex/wildcards or conditional logic. Hookdeck's fan-out is more capable: richer per-connection filtering rules and payload transformations before delivery, with no published cap on the number of destinations.
- Dashboard: Vixify has a live-ish dashboard (5-second auto-refresh), full request/response inspection per delivery, manual retry, a one-click test webhook, and status/search filtering. Both competitors have materially more mature dashboards (Hookdeck in particular -- CLI, local tunneling, request replay UI, team roles).
- Backoff schedule: Vixify retries at 30s, 1m, 2m, 4m, 8m, 16m, then every 30m until the window closes. Svix's documented schedule is immediate, 5s, 5m, 30m, 2h, 5h, 10h, 10h.
Where Vixify is behind, plainly
- No team accounts, roles, or SSO -- one Google account owns everything.
- No SOC 2 report, audit logs, or published uptime SLA.
- Filtering and payload transforms are basic -- exact-match on one JSON field, and keep-only-these-fields reshaping -- with no regex/wildcards, conditional logic, or full templating the way Hookdeck's filter/transform rules support.
- No CLI, local webhook tunneling, or request-replay-from-UI tooling.
- Free plan's retry window (48h) is still shorter than Hookdeck's documented free-tier ceiling (up to 7 days) -- said plainly, same as above.
- Delivery timeout is fixed at 60 seconds, matching Hookdeck's own default exactly -- but unlike Hookdeck, it isn't configurable per project (they allow up to 15 minutes per destination).
Where Vixify is actually different
- $5/mo flat vs. $39-499/mo for the cheapest paid tier -- and Vixify Pro's retry window (7 days / 50 attempts) now matches Hookdeck's own documented ceiling exactly, and comfortably beats Svix's ~1-day schedule, at a fraction of either's price.
- No enforced cap on the number of webhooks accepted per month on either plan.
- No enforced throughput cap either -- tested live at 150 requests/second with 99.98% success, vs. Hookdeck's documented 5 events/sec default on their free plan (a separate, paid upgrade to raise).
- Built entirely on Cloudflare's edge network (Workers/D1/R2/Durable Objects) -- no separate infrastructure to reason about, and the source of most of what's on this page is one small codebase, not a platform with years of accumulated surface area.
- Ingest runs at whichever of Cloudflare's 300+ locations is closest to whoever's sending the webhook, not a fixed single region -- measure your own round-trip time instead of taking that on faith.
